For seeds germination such as melon, capsicum, tomatoes and beans !
It retains maximum oxygen and never impedes the development of plants’ root development.
Best with tomatoes, capsicum, chilli & melon !!
For seeds that take < 5 days to germinate, such as veggies & herbs, use our growth sponge instead !
It’s more economical.
For seeds that take > 7 days to germinate, such as some flowers, melons, tomatoes, beans plants, our rockwool will ensure your seeds get the sufficient water for germination, and yet not to wet that cause it to rot before the seeds even got a chance to germinate.
We now offer 3 sizes, with each cube measuring :
– 50x50mm, height 50mm (Individual cube)
– 35x35mm, height 40mm (Large)
– 25x25mm, height 40mm (Small)
Simply soak it in water for a day and just insert your seeds into the holes (refer to photo 3 – this is the top side where u should insert the seeds) or dig one yourself, and watch your seeds germinate !
How to choose between rockwool or growth sponge ?
Growth sponge is used to germinate seeds with < 5 days of germinate.
It is not used for seeds with long germination period > 10 days due to the excessive water retention, which will cause the seeds to rot.
Rookwool on the other hand is suitable for almost any seeds, but is more expensive than growth sponge. Thus, we use germination sponge to germinate most veggies seeds which has < 5 days germination period, while for seeds that needs greater duration such as melon, chilli, capricum, egg plants, we use rockwool.
The slab comes in – 14 x 7 pcs (for large 35x35mm, ht 40mm rockwool)
– 20 x 10 pcs (for small 25x25mm, ht 40mm rockwool) or individual 50x50mm cube (sold in 5 / 10 or 20)
– refer to last photo (Image 4) due to packing, we might cut them into individual pcs.
For example, if you order 14 cube of large rockwool, we might cut them into 2 x 5 in a block, and 2 x 2 in another block.
If u need them in a single continuous slab of cubes, do let us know.
